· @Warcyd As others said, rest mode will carry on downloading but turning off will pause it. If you can, plug your router into the console. It makes a HUGE difference. I download like 10 gigs of something (am on a slow connection so every gig matters) and I turn it back on to finish the remaining couple of gigs to see those 10 gigs were gone. Happened with multiple games so I've started pausing when I turn PS4 off. Umm the PS4 is not supposed to turn off while downloading their chief, and as a matter of fact a PS4 turning off while downloading has the potential to not only corrupt your hard drive but brick your system also, especially if it’s turn off during a software update.
If you can download at let's say 50mbps it will take you X amount of time to receive 20GB of information regardless of how many things you download at the same time. If you queue everything your install time will be more efficient as well considering you are only installing one item at a time to the slow rpm PS4 drive. Hi WolfsSoul, Yes, if you pause the download you can pick up from where you left off. Thanks. EAGuy I think you phrased this incorrectly. It should let you continue downloading after turning it on without loosing progress if that's what you were asking. 1. Let the download finish. 2. Get the new equipment and reinitiate the download. Whichever's faster, do that.
Find the download or downloads you want to pause and hit X, then select pause and hit X again. The download is now paused. When you’re ready to resume downloading, after the game you really want. If you need to resume a download after pausing it, just repeat the same step and you’ll be all ready to go. That is how you pause a download on your PlayStation 4. @Warcyd As others said, rest mode will carry on downloading but turning off will pause it. If you can, plug your router into the console.
